As board certified health care providers for children and adolescents, we strongly recommend and follow the scientifically-based guidelines for immunization practice published by the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Advisory Council on Immunization Practice.  Not only are the individual vaccines important for a child’s health and well-being, but also the timing of the doses is critical for the proper protection.  Oftentimes, parents can be bombarded with seemingly conflicting information about many child health topics, including immunizations; it is extremely important to search/receive truly accurate and correct information for your child’s overall life.  Celebrities and “self-appointed” scientists have readily expressed their own nonqualified opinions.  Refusing or delaying vaccines not only endangers the individual child but also effects the overall level of disease/immunity in the family and the community (as well as in our reception area).  This is especially the case as we are living increasingly in an international global society.

Consequently, we highly recommend that your child be immunized according to the AAP recommended standard schedule.
